Lime, Minkee, Love, and a Finish

I love Minkee.

I also love mixing things up a little :)
Of course I couldn't leave it at just 11" squares. I used the pattern I tutorial'd here with the MSQC
I love this pattern and the quilt all Minkee'd up is amazing! I've cuddled under it with almost everyone of my five children :) not all at once but I could have.
It's 3 packs of 20 - 11" squares plus borders to make a big double bed sized quilt. It's glorious :)

I loved binding it, my little guy spent the morning cuddled under it as I worked, and now it's super easy to find an excuse to go check on my daughter and of course sit on her bed... and pet it.

Its a happy quilt, who else out there loves Minkee?
Raise your hand!

Oooo, Me! Me!

Filtering out the "White Noise"

These blocks are finally finished and sewn into lovely long strips
with my fun little applique shapes
(still don't know the name :D )
making there way all across those white strips!
I'm calling it White Noise and I'm thrilled to finally be filtering this out of my to-do box!

Working on a video tutorial for it too! Fun!

What do you call this shape?

I don't even know.

But I like it and I cut almost a hundred of them which puts me with a little over one hundred done. I need 240 I think. I cut until I ran out of steam a seam, so, I'll be heading to the quilt shop soon I think!
I can't wait to start putting blocks together!

Here's the link to my last post about my lovely Arcadia blocks and the fun pattern they will soon be :D

Happy quilting!

A quilt for my house

It's rare that the projects I make actually stay home with me. They always have places to go and other friends to hang out with. They usually don't come home after leaving either, they're worse than a teenager.
The last project I have to show you that began on my 1 person retreat is the beginnings of an Arcadia layer cake quilt.
I'm really excited about it!
Maybe it has to do with this gray trend happening around blogland (I'm getting ready to start a gray project for one of my PIF's), but it's going to live in the guest room down stairs and will be the focal/inspiration point for the rest of the room.

After finishing all the strip piecing and almost all the applique cutting I decided I needed to order another layer cake.
1 just isn't enough!
Look at that stack it looks so small, I need to get it a little bigger :)
Bigger is better right? :D In this case yes!

How bout a little Snippets for your morning?

I've got a fabulous little thing going with some Snippets by American Jane

I love a work in progress!

Honestly, I'm not exactly sure how this is going to finish up. *blush* Do you ever do that? I've got the basic pattern worked out but I have lots of scraps left -

And I want it to be as large as possible, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to figure out a way to use all the little pieces to increase the size... hmm... we'll see!

I'm loving the polka dots in the fabric I've got the fabric all split into color groups mixed with all the polka dots! They're such happy colors!

The polka dots are going to be running trails through the quilt top though :) I'm so excited it should be pretty cute!
