A Happy Quilt!

When I posted a couple weeks ago I was looking over my blog and checkin things out and I realized way back when I posted this I never followed up with the full amazing details!
I feel a little bad *insert blush* because my partner was the most amazing partner ever!
Just look at all the fabulous stuff in there! Her name is Kristina Wilberg and her site is Sew Domestic go visit her and tell her I sent you! She is fabulous! She's already finished Doll Quilt Swap 11 And a ton of other swaps and things... Check out her summer post. Whew!

Here's some of the things in her amazing packet of sewing love that she sent me!
Check out the stack of awesome kitschy prints They're spoon flower cuteness and I just used a little of the mushroom print and the foresty print for a little name tag, that's more adorable than my now twelve year old daughter deserves :) but she loves it and so do I!

This is the awesome pieced back! Love the hedgies!

I think we all want to be Kristina now don't we :) or atleast her partner!

By the way the "happy" wall hanging has been in my sewing room for awhile now and I LOVE IT!

Sew many distractions!

Summer is officially over according to the school calendar :) and I'm quite excited to be home with my 2 little people underfoot. I've done a little sewing recently, along with some roller coaster riding, anniversary celebrating (in-laws :) ), party planning, landscaping, phone shopping (haven't bought one yet), and preparing for school.
Sewing was by far my favorite.
(Roller coasters might be in the running too, shhh... )

I have a couple things I'm pretty excited about, first
-I'm finally making progress on my pif! I'm using every bit of my 365 days *blush*
-I did a great little embroidery for my in-laws for their anniversary! Along with 280 reasons we love them! It was their 40th anniversary so we did 40 reasons (or close to that amount :) ) we love them from each of the grandkids. They're all scrolled up behind a snap closing pocket on the back of the embroidery.
-And last this is a swap block I made a dozen of on the last day of summer!
They are a pattern of my own design. They had to go together quickly and I think I'm going to keep working on the pattern to fine tune it but I like the colors and design!

Inspired by the hunt!

I found these owls over the summer at a random garage sale. They were rusty, iron, and plain,

and I still liked them!

So I bought high gloss, heat resistant spray paint and now I love them!
I've also picked up a couple aqua fabrics for a swap I'm participating in!
My owls are excited :D

Little Red and Nicey Jane are on there way to Market

Ha if only.
That started as a childrens rhyme joke and then I capitalized Market and my brain went straight to Minnesota. I'm not even going to explain what the joke would have been it's just depressing now. At this point I may or may not be going to market, though it seems to be leaning towards not.
Sad huh.

On a happier note, let me show you my cute swap things.I made these for my wonderful swap friend. She's amazing and she was looking for some fun things for her home I chose a sewing machine cover and then threw together this Nicey Jane pillow. It wasn't one of her color combo choices but she had the color's in her inspiration pics and everyone loves Nicey Jane right?

Here's a close up of Little Red herself. I love it it's a drawing done by my very good friend Catania I think she could sell some of her artwork as embroidery patterns. She's great, so is Red.
I also love her gnome friends :) Tiny gnomes make life happier I think.

This is part of the swap gift I received. It's awesome!!! I don't know how I managed to get some one with just the right stash or maybe just the right fabric taste for me! But I now have several projects I want to do that involves finding some of the fabrics she used :) It's way to super cute! And the pillow she gave me was amazing (go check out all my pics on flickr then check out her's :) ) The front is adorable & the backs blue is perfect for my living room! She used a daisy chain fabric and a solid gray to pair it with on the back and I don't know how I got so lucky but it's really one of my favorites!

Last, I was asked about the mailbox I said I was building...
Well it killed my wrist, almost. I can still sew :) but here it is in all it's not perfectness what can I say but I'm sure glad I can still sew. I'm a lot better at that.If I could not sew we would be having some big issues. As it is, it only makes it hard to do push-ups which I'm not really sure I'm upset about :)

Smoke and mirrors

May I just say. Things are far busier than they appear :D
Yes it's all tricks I play. Smoke and mirrors to make you think I'm slacking off but no. :D

Hehe, in any case I have lots going on, sewing and not!

I have a tutorial I'm getting ready to put up, my very first pattern (not the giraffe) is ready to go and for sale in a couple places (makes me smile:) )
I also have another pattern getting ready to be finished this month (possibly the giraffe... cross your fingers) if I can get my scanner to work right, ugh.
And I finished my swap projects! Yay!
Here's a backwards peak at my Urban Home Goods swap stuff that I'm sending... a few days late. But I'm pretty sure she'll still want them :D I'll post more pics tomorrow after I have some sunshine and I mail them!
And I can start attacking even more projects... do you ever dream of getting your sewing table completely clear of projects? Not just so it feels clean but so you can start fresh again! I love a clear table and right now mine is anything but that.

Happy dreams.

Poppies, Poppies!

It came!!!
This is the beautiful Spring Blooms quilt I received from blogless Debbie Mitchell.
I don't know how she knew it but I definitely have a thing for poppies!
...I guess really I have a thing for pretty much all flowers :)
But I do love the way she put them together! With the cute background blocks, the lime green and the extra texture stitching on the flower heads!

It's beautiful! Thanks Debbie!

Oops

So....

I have no idea what that last post was even supposed to be *blush* oops, sorry! I know that it was posted the day before I left on vacation :)

I'd been planning to update you all after the giveaway craziness but as expected, it was crazy so here's what happened last week.

I worked hard and finished my Spring Blooms mini quilt

...and started working on 1000 truffles to be made for my Brother in law's wedding last week. My sister in law and I worked on them till 5 am while watching "How I Met Your Mother" episodes and I only got about 700 done....

yeah I decided that would be good enough :D Hehe! Nothing like working till your husband wakes up in the morning to make you feel like you've done enough for awhile! Then this week while we were in Missouri at my good friend Laura's house I made the wedding cake! And now I'm home after baking like crazy over the last 2 weeks! Here's a picture of the wedding cake just because I worked so dang hard on it and I'm proud of it, but I'm looking forward to some fun projecting very soon! I've got great fabric for a night gown for my little girl from the MO Star Quilt Co. I'm also getting ready to try quilting a large baby quilt myself (Eek! The biggest project I've yet attempted!) I've got to tutorial the sashing for the Log Cabin Suburbia quilt along! And my favorite upcoming project involves some new fabric I got before the Missouri trip!
