Mailbox treasures!

Hello everyone I just got back from a family reunion at the Lake of the Ozarks! It was amazing as usual! But guess what I found in my mailbox when I got home??? Treasures from Mel!
What a way to come home!
I found all these fabulous treasures because I won a prize just for following Mel's Own Place's fabulous blog! How great is that!
So, with out further ado, check out Mel's awesomeness! So much cute stuff!!
Included in my fabulous treasures I found things to get me sewing...
(including Mels fantastic pattern 30 something and then some!)

I found crafting inspiration...(by the way that wool covered magnet is posted in an awesome shot of many wool buttons on Mel's site click here to see it... scroll down a little to see my famous magnet, but first check out her awesome fabric post card. Legen... wait for it... dary!)

and I found things to remind me crafting is not only sewing...there is also scrapbooking about sewing! :)
Thanks so much Mel! What a great assortment of gifts and fantastic treasures!

Poochiness Happenin' on the MSQC blog

Hey everyone! You can see my latest project posted over on the MSQC blog!
It's not finished yet but I'm enjoying the process :)

I'm thinking that I'll finish the top with the leftover Amy Butler Slate that I sashed my Log Cabin Suburbia in and I got some cute blue fuzzy stuff to back it, so, it will be nice and cuddly for my little guy to lay on :D

So anyway, go check it out & leave me some love! (hehe, That sounds like my grandma!)

Log Cabin Suburbia - Quilt Block #3 and the sashing!

OK So it's not done completely but my Log Cabin Suburbia quilt top is done!!!

I don't want to re upload all the instructions on here so here are the links to my posts on the MSQC forum

This is the whole quilt top all together! I love it! I used Amy Butler's Quilting Solid in Slate to sash it and I think it's fantastic! I can't wait till I get to quilt it!

I'm gonna try and get ahold of some more Alexander Henry Camden Fair Fabric to bind it! Clap, Cheer! Yay!
Wow, I think I just finished my first tutorial :)

Quilt Show

I was lucky enough to be able to attend a quilt show held during a Civil War reenactment in Northwest MO 2 weeks ago. It was hosted by the MSQC and they had lots of help from the wonderful quilting ladies in the area! You can see a few pictures on their blog!

I thought I'd post a few of my favorites though!

I thought this one was phenomenal!

I'm amazed at the design and the work that went into this!

I also really like this red and white one...

... and I thought the re-creation of this one was a little more feasible :)

But still gorgeous!

Another favorite...

... at this point I'm starting to see a pattern and thinking I need to try something red and white! lol!

Breaking from my theme of favorites I found this awesome quilt along the back wall.
I love the colors and circles!

It's partially appliqued...

hmm...

Who knows I think I like it well enough that I might try something like this out one day!

Oops

So....

I have no idea what that last post was even supposed to be *blush* oops, sorry! I know that it was posted the day before I left on vacation :)

I'd been planning to update you all after the giveaway craziness but as expected, it was crazy so here's what happened last week.

I worked hard and finished my Spring Blooms mini quilt

...and started working on 1000 truffles to be made for my Brother in law's wedding last week. My sister in law and I worked on them till 5 am while watching "How I Met Your Mother" episodes and I only got about 700 done....

yeah I decided that would be good enough :D Hehe! Nothing like working till your husband wakes up in the morning to make you feel like you've done enough for awhile! Then this week while we were in Missouri at my good friend Laura's house I made the wedding cake! And now I'm home after baking like crazy over the last 2 weeks! Here's a picture of the wedding cake just because I worked so dang hard on it and I'm proud of it, but I'm looking forward to some fun projecting very soon! I've got great fabric for a night gown for my little girl from the MO Star Quilt Co. I'm also getting ready to try quilting a large baby quilt myself (Eek! The biggest project I've yet attempted!) I've got to tutorial the sashing for the Log Cabin Suburbia quilt along! And my favorite upcoming project involves some new fabric I got before the Missouri trip!

Hurray for free cupcakes!

Hey I wanted to let you know who the winner of my giveaway was!

Dun dah dun!

It was Ali over at the Thrifty Mom website!

Ali apparently makes great friends with her pincushions because she said: Oh, I would love that to replace my much used twenty year old pincushion!
So glad you'll have another long time friend Ali!
